Victim Catches Burglars Trying to Kick in Door

A Dumfries resident thwarted two would-be burglars when he caught them trying to kick in his rear door on Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

Police responded to the home at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday in the 16200 block of Taconic Circle.

The homeowner told police the two men fled on foot after failing to get into the house. No property was missing. A search with a police K-9 unit was unsuccessful.

The two suspects are identified as black males, between 18 and 25 years old, 6'0", with a thin build. Both were last seen wearing a black colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
