2015-2016 Snow Forecast: StormTeam4 Announces Predictions

NBC-4’s SnowTeam4 predicts the DC metro area will see above average snow this winter season, according to their prediction released this week.

They say snow likely won’t fall until January (no white Christmas) and any big snowfall will likely take place in February. A mega-storm (or “Snowmaggedon”) could hit with the right mix of cold air with an El Nino storm, they say:

Storm Team4 predicts at least one big snowstorm, which could drive up the snowfall total. If an El Niño storm moves in our direction when enough cold air is present, we could have a monster storm.
We’re expecting 20 to 25 inches snow for the D.C. metro region, as many as 20 inches for the area south of the District and 30 to 50 inches for the area west of the District.
