Alexandria Man Who Distributed Opioids To Addicts Sentenced
The Alexandria man and his father conspired to distribute opioids to addicts in Northern Virginia, according to court records.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—An Alexandria man has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for his role in distributing opioids to addicts and other buyers in Northern Virginia.
Robert T. Hancasky, III, 32, worked with his father Robert T. Hancasky, Jr. to distribute oxycodone and methadone, according to court documents.
The father-son duo distributed the drugs in the area after the father obtained a prescription from his doctor. Meanwhile Hancasky III coordinated a scheme to pass fake prescriptions at local pharmacies. He would recruit “runners” obtain the drugs at local pharmacies and give them oxycodone pills in return.

According to the plea agreement, Hancasky III also admitted to distributing heroin and buprenorphine, a medication designed to help people quit heroin and other opiates.
Hancasky Jr. pleaded guilty on Dec. 8 and faces sentencing on April 13, 2018.
