Thanksgiving Dinner Fundraiser

Last November, we provided and delivered Thanksgiving Dinner to 326 families in Alexandria who would not have been able to celebrate this special holiday, otherwise. Each family received a turkey, pumpkin pie, bag of potatoes, bag of dinner rolls, stuffing, green beans, corn, yams, cranberry sauce, etc. This year our goal is to provide dinner for 435 families.

Last year, our Keller Williams office, along with ALIVE, INC, organized a hugely successful thanksgiving dinner donation event. As we delivered the meals to families in Alexandria, VA, we received hugs and many thank yous. The volunteers told us that a lot of families said that without us, they would not have been able to celebrate the holiday, at all. They did not have the money or resources to feed their families a basic Thanksgiving dinner.

We are reaching out to the community, our friends, family, neighbors and clients to get involved.

We are collecting donations to purchase the turkeys, pies, rolls and other necessary items. Checks can be mailed to our office address at 607 S. Washington Street Alexandria, VA2 2314 . Checks are made payable to Keller Williams, Realty with “Thanksgiving donation” in the memo line. We are also collecting donations online at: www.youcaring.com/thanksgivingdonations

Volunteers Needed

By increasing our number of families served to 435, which is much larger than last year’s total, we are in need of many volunteers this year on November 25.

One group is needed from 10:00 am to 3 pm, in our Old Town office to put all of the dinners together and deliver the meals to local schools for families to pick up. The other group, at least 50-60 people, is needed from 5:30pm to 8pm to deliver the dinners to our designated families. We project that each car will deliver 5 meals and for safety reasons, each car will have a minimum of 2 people. We will meet back at our office for a party to celebrate the success of our event.
