Alexandria Aces: Photos From the Home Opener

The Aces dropped a hard-fought game, 3-2, to the Silver-Spring/Takoma T-Bolts in their home opener.

The Alexandria Aces faced as much opposition from the weather as from rival teams during the first week of the 2013 Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League season. Their record stands at 0-2, with three games postponed due to rain and sloppy field conditions.

The Aces play at Frank Mann Field, 3700 Commonwealth Ave., Alexandria, VA. The field is at Four Mile Run Park, next to Cora Kelly School.

The Aces roster consists of college players from around the country. The Cal Ripken League is a premier collegiate wooden bat summer league with 12 community-supported teams based in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. The league draws talent from top Division I, II, and III baseball programs nationwide.
