Del Ray History Project: An Introduction
I am researching the history of Mount Vernon Avenue from 1970 to present day. Contact me to share your photos or stories of Del Ray.

My name is Annie and I am researching the history of Del Ray for a new book project. I am specifically focused on identifying every business on Mount Vernon Avenue between West Glebe and East Braddock roads from 1970 to 2013 and recording stories from residents.
If you, or someone you know, has historical knowledge, photographs, or stories of Del Ray, particularly the Mount Vernon Ave. business corridor, I'd love to hear from you.
I am going to be conducting personal interviews at St. Elmo's weekly, with anyone who'd like to talk about living and working in Del Ray.

Please contact me at: aweinberg@czb.org if you'd like to:
- Sign up for a personal interview slot
- Share old photos
- Help fact-check (i.e. go over names and dates with me)
If you don't mind, please make the subject line "History" or "Interview."

This research is for a potential book project about how neighborhoods change. That's why I'm being a stickler about dates. But that’s also why this project is so exciting; it has the potential to help us all understand neighborhoods a little better.
Please feel free to say hello if you see me around and keep checking this blog for updates on the project!
Thank you for welcoming me to Del Ray!
