RSVP, America's Largest Volunteer Network for people 55 and older, has now come to Northern Virginia!

Lead with a lifetime of experience. RSVP volunteers bring 55+ years of skills and experience, and many of them want to explore new talents!

RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network for people age 55 and older. In Northern Virginia, RSVP volunteers are responding to community needs in and around Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. The program allows seniors to use the skills and talents they’ve learned over the years, or develop new ones while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within their community. RSVP also offers flexibility, allowing individuals to choose how, where, and how often they want to serve, with commitments ranging from one to 40 hours per week. Projects include: mentoring children in classrooms, supporting veterans and military families, tax counseling for low-income families, and working in local and national parks just to name a few.

Senior volunteering has many perks and studies show that volunteering helps us to live longer, more meaningful lives. Often times, volunteering is a means of providing many older adults with a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Volunteering for seniors can help sustain physical and mental health while connecting seniors to their community and offers increased social activity, combating isolation and loneliness.

Aside from the physical, mental, and social benefits of volunteering, benefits to RSVP members include:
