In 2026, Del Ray Artisans will have special extended gallery hours on the First Thursday of the month from April through June.
From June 5–28, Del Ray Artisans gallery is hosting the <a href="https://delrayartisans.org/event/usa-at-250/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">USA at 250 art exhibit</a>
 in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday. Come get a sneak peek 
today (Thursday, June 4) from 12–9pm! The gallery is free to browse and 
all ages are welcome.
&nbsp;First Thursday was a former program of the <a href="https://www.visitdelray.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Del Ray Business Association</a>.
 In 2026, Del Ray Citizens Association has assumed responsibility for 
organizing and presenting this beloved neighborhood tradition. The 2026

Del Ray Artisans invites you to join its celebration of the country’s
 250th birthday at an art exhibition that focuses on where we have been,
 where we are, and where we are going. USA at 250 challenged 
local artists to capture the spirit of our nation, its past, present, or
 future. This exhibit includes artworks that focus on the positive, 
highlighting the splendor of our landscapes, people, history, 
creativity, resilience or other aspects that shape the American 
experience. Come see how local artists have chosen to capture their view
 of the “USA at 250”.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 5 between 7-9pm to 
meet curators TJ Feeley and Karen Feeley and the exhibiting artists.

Poets and Poetry Lovers: Please join us for our next Del Ray Poetry Reading on Friday, June 5 (7-9pm) at St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, 2300 Mt. Vernon Ave. Our featured reader is poet Claire Kinnane. About Claire Kinnane Claire Kinnane is a poet, writer and proud mother of two from Washington DC. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from American University and an M.Ed in Secondary Education from GW. She's taught high-school English at the Kirov Academy of Ballet, a boarding school for gifted dancers. Claire is the founder of Write &amp; Thrive, an organization which provides writing workshops to neurodivergent teens and adults. Her work has been featured in Mount Hope, Timber, Dash, Big Lucks and most recently, Five Points. She is a former winner of the Arlington Moving Words Competition.

Come to play and experiment freely, and leave with pages started and 
ideas you can continue exploring long after the class ends. Junk 
Journaling blends the art of collage with the practice of journaling, 
offering a playful, low-pressure way to explore creativity without 
worrying about perfection. The emphasis is on curiosity, intuition, 
experimentation, and discovering your own expressive style.
In this workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques for collage, 
layering, and composition, and receive guidance on using found paper, 
packaging, tags, embellishments, and everyday “junk” to create layered, 
expressive journal pages that reflect your personal perspective and 
storytelling style.
Please bring your own journal. If you don’t have one yet, 
high-quality paper will be provided so you can experiment and create 
during class. All other supplies will be included, such as paper, 
ephemera, stickers, tape, glue, and basic tools. You’re also welcome to 
bring old photographs, mementos, or personal collage materials you enjoy
 using, especially items that hold meaning for you.
This beginner-friendly class is open to teenagers and adults of all skill levels.

Our free concert, A Journey Through American Music, will highlight American artists and composers throughout America's musical history. Perfect for beginners and artists alike, this mosaic class offers a 
fun, relaxed way to get creative. We will take you from a blank board to
 a polished varnished mosaic masterpiece.
Learn the basics of mosaic fabrication by first drawing a geometrical
 design on a 10-inch MDF board. With guidance every step of the way, 
you’ll work with a special clay and learn to roll and sculpt it for the 
design, and then paint it with vibrant acrylic colors. The finishing 
touches include setting shimmering mirrors on the design and adding the 
final gloss and protection with a coat of varnish.
All supplies are included in the supplies fee.
