Del Ray Artisans is seeking exhibit proposals for next year’s 
calendar. Del Ray Artisans strives to offer exhibits that reach a broad 
and diverse audience, encourage artistic development, and represent a 
wide variety of art forms. Experienced and first time curators welcome!
The Exhibit Selection Committee will review all proposals and make recommendations to the Board for final approval.

Come to play and experiment freely, and leave with pages started and 
ideas you can continue exploring long after the class ends. Junk 
Journaling blends the art of collage with the practice of journaling, 
offering a playful, low-pressure way to explore creativity without 
worrying about perfection. The emphasis is on curiosity, intuition, 
experimentation, and discovering your own expressive style.
In this workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques for collage, 
layering, and composition, and receive guidance on using found paper, 
packaging, tags, embellishments, and everyday “junk” to create layered, 
expressive journal pages that reflect your personal perspective and 
storytelling style.
Please bring your own journal. If you don’t have one yet, 
high-quality paper will be provided so you can experiment and create 
during class. All other supplies will be included, such as paper, 
ephemera, stickers, tape, glue, and basic tools. You’re also welcome to 
bring old photographs, mementos, or personal collage materials you enjoy
 using, especially items that hold meaning for you.
This beginner-friendly class is open to teenagers and adults of all skill levels.

Want to sharpen your figure drawing skills and take your work to the 
next level? Sign up for our 5-day Figure Drawing Bootcamp, where we’ll 
dive into artistic anatomy through a combination of short and long poses
 designed to teach you about the structure of the human body and 
creating a dynamic drawing. This year’s workshop will be taught by 
Veronica Severini, a figure artist and medical illustrator-in-training 
from Chicago. Veronica’s knowledge of artistic anatomy will guide you 
through seeing the figure and making intentional drawing decisions.
Each day features two unique models, ensuring an engaging experience, with an hour break for lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm.
Immerse yourself in a creative environment, fostering both artistic 
expression, learning, and community. Unleash your creativity and join a 
vibrant community of local artists!
We’re offering a discounted weekly rate! Just $200 for DRA members 
and $250 for non-members for the 5-day pass. Anyone can drop-in on the 
day(s) they select for $55/day for members and $65/day for non-members.
Purchase our $30 supply kit (optional), and we will provide a basic 
set you need to get started. The kit includes newsprint, charcoal, fine 
art paper, and pastels. Keep any unused newsprint/charcoal at the end of
 the session!
If you’d like to bring your own supplies, we recommend:
<ul>
<li>50+ Sheets of Newsprint (preferably 14″ x 16″ or 18″ x 24″)</li>
<li>Charcoal (Vine, Compressed, Thick, Conte, White, whichever your preference)</li>
<li>Graphite of your choice</li>
<li>Grey and/or Tan Toned Strathmore or Canson Mi-Teintes Drawing Paper (for longer poses)</li>
<li>Rags/Blending stumps/Paper towels</li>
<li>Kneaded &amp; Solid Erasers</li>
</ul>
BYO easels and clip-boards! We will have a few + the personal-sized 
folding tables, but they are all first come, first serve as storage 
space is limited.
*Note: No oil paint during these sessions due to fumes. Drawing media, acrylic paints, and watercolor allowed.
General overview of daily instruction:

<li>Day 1: Gesture drawing, mark making, and composition</li>
<li>Day 2: Light and shadow, anatomical landmarks I – ribcage and pelvis</li>
<li>Day 3: Anatomical landmarks II: joints</li>
<li>Day 4: Musculature</li>
<li>Day 5: Putting it all together – reading the anatomy of a pose, perspective, light, and shadow</li>

5-day Figure Drawing Bootcamp (9am–3pm/day) Mon July 6 - Fri July 10

Drop-in and practice figure drawing on select Tuesday and Thursday 
evenings each month. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to 
draw or paint our nude model.
Traditional drawing media (such as pencils, pens, and charcoal) are 
welcome; and pastels, watercolor and ink are permissible. Please do not 
bring acrylics or oil paints. We don’t supply easels – only plenty of 
chairs – but you are welcome to bring your own easel if you want to use 
one. All skill levels are welcome.
The first part of this session will be focused on gesture poses 
(dynamic 1-5 minute poses) to loosen up and participate in a fun, 
fast-paced drawing experience. The second hour will be a few short poses
 for more detailed drawings leading up to up to two 20-minute poses.
