Troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over to no avail. Kenney allegedly continued at a high speed along Eisenhower Avenue and hit a Lexus car. The crash caused both vehicles to run off the road. The suspect's stolen Hyundai struck a fire hydrant, slid up a grassy embankment, overturned and ended up in a commercial business parking lot in the 5600 block of Eisenhower Avenue. The Lexus hit a metal railing outside of a business. The Lexus driver was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Kenney fled from the car on foot until a trooper caught him in a nearby parking lot. Kenney was taken into custody and got a medical evaluation at the hospital. A 19-year-old passenger in Kenney's car was ejected from the car and went to the hospital with serious injuries.
