Coronavirus Testing Sites Provide Expanded Capacity In Alexandria

Inova opened a respiratory illness clinic on Monday, and Neighborhood Health has set up testing sites.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — New options are allowing for expanded testing capacity in Alexandria. Inova has opened a new respiratory illness clinic at Inova Primary Care Old Town Monday, and Neighborhood Health recently opened testing sites.

The Inova respiratory illness clinic is available by appointment only from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and vehicle-side testing appointments happen between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Individuals who are screened by a primary care doctor and receive a written testing order for coronavirus testing can make an appointment. If a doctor cannot provide COVID-19 testing to a patient, he or she may refer the patient to a respiratory clinic.

Patients without a written order or do not meet testing criteria will be directed to make an appointment at Inova Primary Care Old Town Alexandria for screening and potential testing. Call 703-683-7220 for a testing appointment or evaluation at Inova Primary Care Old Town Alexandria.

Inova’s three other respiratory illness clinics at the Dulles South, North Arlington, and Tysons urgent care centers take walk-in appointments for screening and testing for those who meet criteria.

Other new testing sites were set up by Neighborhood Health in Arlandria and West Ends. The nonprofit community health center, which serves low-income residents, is offering testing by appointment for its patients. Patients can call 703-535-5568 for a telehealth evaluation, and the health care provider may order a coronavirus test. The testing is conducted outdoors, and walk-ins are not accepted.
