Election Day 2014 Checklist for Alexandria Voters
What you need to know, including information on photo IDs.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, there is a General Election for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and a Proposed Amendment to the Virginia Constitution. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Here are some tips from the City for Alexandria voters:
Confirm Your Polling Place
Virginia law requires voters to vote in their home precinct. Alexandria voters who want to confirm their polling place can go tohttp://alexandriava.gov/Elections and click “Am I Registered and Where do I Vote?” Voters may also verify their information by calling the Voter Registration Office at 703.746.4050.

Proposed Amendment to the Virginia Constitution
Make Sure You Have Photo ID
Virginia voters must show an acceptable form of photo identification when voting, for example a Virginia Driver’s License, US Passport, or Military ID. You can review the complete list of acceptable ID at http://alexandriava.gov/Elections,
Voters who do not have one of these IDs may apply for a free Voter Photo ID Card from Alexandria’s Voter Registration Office. All voters who apply for this free ID will receive a Temporary ID which they may use to vote in their precinct on Election Day. The Office is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, and on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters who do not bring a photo ID when voting may still vote a provisional ballot. They have until noon on November 7 to 1) deliver a copy of their photo ID to the Voter Registration Office or 2) appear in-person at the office to apply for a free Voter Photo ID Card and request a Temporary ID to meet the ID requirement for the November election.
