Flea Market, More Del Ray Events On Super Bowl Weekend
Looking for things to do outside of watching the Super Bowl? Party for a good cause, attend an adorable Puppy Bowl event and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Maybe watching the Super Bowl isn't your thing, or you want something to do before the big game starts. Either way, you'll be looking for events to pass the time.
Even though the Super Bowl will dominate Sunday, there's still a variety of events to look forward to around Del Ray this weekend.
Here are five events to check out in the area:

Feb. 3, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 444 Swann Avenue, Alexandria

Bring us your unwanted household goods and shop for bargains. All donations are tax-deductible and sales support the Mount Vernon Community School. A bigger event is set for April 28 at the Mount Vernon Community Center.
Feb. 2, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Del Ray Artisans/Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria
Come out for the opening of the Art² exhibit at Del Ray Artisans gallery, which explores the mix of art with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This show runs Feb. 2-25 and overlaps with National Engineering Week and includes workshops to engage STEM-interested public of all ages. Come see how creativity drives the mind to explore and inspires scientists to ask questions and search for understanding.
Feb. 4, 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Wag & Brew, 614 S Pickett Street, Alexandria
Join Operation Paws for Homes to watch local rescue dogs participate in the doggone best sporting event of the year and see Alexandria's new Wag & Brew pet resort. Puppy Bowl XIV is set for 3 p.m. Sunday on Animal Planet. The event is free, but attendees can purchase a "Pup Cup" with a complementary beer for $10. Leashed dogs are welcome.
4. SnackBar Dinner and Live Music Fundraiser
Feb. 2, 6 p.m.-9 p.m., SnackBar, 2419 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria
The event will raise money for Operation Walk Virginia to fight joint disease. The money will go toward a mother and two local seniors, who are traveling to Panama to volunteer with the group. The two young girls plan on pursuing careers in medicine. SnackBar will have live music, raffles and food. Tickets are available online.
5. Super Bowl of Shopping Event - Alexandria Warehouse Sale
Feb. 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., The Westin Alexandria, 400 Courthouse Square, Alexandria
For shoppers, this annual designer warehouse sale is just as big as the football game. Check out dozens of boutiques all in one place and enjoy activities like a hard seltzer tasting bar, free Pilates and yoga classes, hands-on home decor classes, prizes valued up to $1,000 and more.

Over 60 restaurants from Old Town to Del Ray and beyond are offering specials through Sunday. The semiannual event features special menus for a $35 three-course dinner or dinner for two, as well as $10, $15 or $20 lunch specials at select restaurants.
