ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Health Department has announced two free coronavirus testing events scheduled for Monday, May 25. Testing will be open to anyone over age 2 without a doctor referral or appointment.

Drive-thru and walk-up testing will be available at Landmark Mall (5801 Duke Street, entry from Van Dorn Street), and walk-up only testing will be held at Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology (3600 Commonwealth Avenue). Both events will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Anyone aged above 2 can be tested, but the health department says the event is intended for residents who previously couldn't access testing.

Identification is not required for the free testing. All visitors to the testing sites should wear a cloth face covering or surgical mask. Spanish, Arabic, and Amharic translators will be available on-site.

The testing event is supported by the Alexandria Health Department, City of Alexandria, Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. The state has supported numerous community testing events in recent days. Numerous drive-thru and walk-up testing events are being held in Prince William County. On May 20, a Leesburg testing event had to close early due to the large testing demand. In Fairfax County, testing events reached capacity early on May 23 in Annandale and May 24 in Bailey's Crossroads.
