Gunman Demanded Kids' Candy on Halloween Night in Alexandria
Alexandria Police report on RAIDS Online says kids were playing at school yard when the suspect demanded they turn over all their candy.

UPDATE: Alexandria Police have issued a description of the suspect who threatened a group of kids with a gun on Halloween night in Del Ray:
The suspect is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5’10” wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with a hood, jeans and a black ski-mask. He was also carrying a red and black backpack.
The incident reportedly took place at about 8:30 p.m. Police ask that anyone with information about this suspect contact Sergeant Michael Kochis at (703) 746-6285.

A person with a gun in hand reportedly demanded that a group of children hand over their candy on Halloween night in Del Ray, according to a police report supplied by Alexandria Police to RAIDS Online; the City touts the Web site as a way for citizens to keep informed about crime in their neighborhoods.

A call came in about the incident at 9:33 p.m. Oct. 31 at 26XX Commonwealth Avenue in Del Ray. Here’s the report from police:
“Unknown suspect, with gun in hand, approached the children playing in the school yard and demanded all of their candy or he would shoot them.”
There was no description given of the suspect.
