Input Sought On Summer 2019 Metro Shutdown In Alexandria
The city wants to know how the station shutdowns will impact residents and what alternate transportation they prefer.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—As the City of Alexandria prepares for its Metro stations to shut down during summer 2019, it has opened a survey to gather public concerns.
The survey asks for residents' top concern about the Metro shutdown, what alternatives they will consider and what they want the city to provide. The survey is open through Dec. 14. Results will be factored into Alexandria's mitigation plan, which will be presented to City Council sometime this winter.
Metro and local jurisdictions are planning for traffic impacts and alternate forms of transportation during the shutdown. City and DASH officials are considering alternatives like special bus shuttles and parking options, but nothing has been confirmed. City departments are coordinating telework and alternate schedule opportunities for employees and encourage local employers to do the same.
