Metro Station Closures To Affect Alexandria On Jan. 12-13
Blue and Yellow Line service changes will impact Alexandria riders going beyond Reagan National Airport.

If you plan on taking Metro this upcoming weekend, brace yourself for some disruptions near Alexandria. On Jan. 12-13, Blue Line service will not run between Reagan National Airport and Arlington Cemetery, and Yellow Line will not run between Reagan National Airport and L’Enfant Plaza.
The Pentagon, Pentagon City and Crystal City stations will be closed as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority installs brighter energy-efficient lighting and conducts track work.
Blue Line trains will run on a normal weekend schedule between Franconia-Springfield and Reagan National Airport, as well as between Arlington Cemetery and Largo Town Center. After 7 p.m., trains will only run between Rosslyn and Largo Town Center. Yellow Line service will be between Huntington and Reagan National Airport only.

Alexandria riders can access National Airport via the Yellow and Blue Line. To access other stations, riders can take Metro to Braddock Road and get on the free shuttle bus to Rosslyn. The shuttle will run every five to 10 minutes with stops at Braddock Road, Crystal City, Pentagon City, Pentagon and Rosslyn. It will not stop at National Airport.
The fastest transportation to DC will be a free express shuttle bus between Reagan National Airport and L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station every five to 10 minutes. There will be no shuttle to Arlington National Cemetery.

The next major shutdown impacting Alexandria will happen on Jan. 26-27. The King Street, Eisenhower Avenue, Van Dorn Street, Franconia-Springfield and Huntington stations will be closed both days for radio cable installations.
