Multi-Day Meals To Be Distributed By Alexandria School District
Alexandria City Public Schools has announced changes to the free meal distribution during the extended school closure.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria City Public Schools announced changes to its meal distribution during the extended school closure related to the new coronavirus outbreak. The changes will allow the school district to provide multiple meals at a time.
Starting Monday, March 23, ACPS will provide two days worth of breakfast and lunch meals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at several locations. The meals are free for any ACPS student, and no advance sign-up is required.
The following sites will distribute breakfast and lunch between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.:

- William Ramsay Elementary School, 5700 Sanger Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22311
- Francis C. Hammond Middle School, 4646 Seminary Road, Alexandria, Virginia 22304
- Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology, 3600 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305
- Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School, 1501 Cameron Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314
Food distribution will not continue from T.C. Williams High School.
Food distribution will not happen on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends. The school district consolidated the food distribution dates to promote social distancing and limit gatherings.

Meals include cold breakfast and lunch with fresh fruits and vegetables, salads and sandwiches for multiple days.

ACPS is planning to remain closed through April 13 due to concerns about the new coronavirus outbreak. Superintendent Gregory Hutchings Jr. is hosting daily question and answer video sessions at 3 p.m., and daily updates are available from ACPS Express.
