National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day: Events This Weekend
What better way to end April than to adopt a new furry friend at Northern Virginia area adoption events this weekend.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Sunday is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, and there are a number of events in the area where you can find a new furry friend.
According to the ASPCA, 6.5 million enter shelters every year. The good news is that the number of animals being euthanized has dropped since 2011 due to an increase in adoptions. This weekend, animal lovers across the region can give more pets a chance at a good life.
