The rally comes after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced his resignation at President Trump's request.

A rally advocating for the protection of Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller in the wake of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' departure will happen Thursday, Nov. 8 in Alexandria. It will be held at 5 p.m. in front of City Hall, 301 King Street.
The protest comes a day after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced he is leaving the administration at the request of President Donald Trump.
The Nobody Is Above the Law network organized protests across the country. There are 21 "Protect Mueller" rallies across Virginia, as well as a Washington, DC rally in front of the White House.

"Donald Trump just crossed a red line, violating the independence of the investigation pursuing criminal charges in the Trump-Russia scandal and cover-up," the group states on its website. "Trump putting himself above the law is a threat to our democracy, and we’ve got to get Congress to stop him."
The event page urges participants to "not to engage in any act of violence or violation of any applicable law."
