Man Assaulted, Killed Dogs In Fairfax County: Police
Two puppies are dead and two others injured after a Fairfax County man assaulted them, police say.

BURKE, VA — A man was arrested and charged Wednesday after an assault on a family of dogs at the 6300 block of Capella Avenue in Burke, Fairfax County Police say. Two puppies are dead from the incident, and another puppy and the mother dog are injured.
Around 12:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man bitten by a dog. An investigation determined the suspect provoked and assaulted a family of dogs. The female dog suffered serious injuries, and the male dog was found uninjured in the area. Police found three puppies nearby. Two were dead, and one was injured. Kevin Land, 46, of Burke was arrested and charged with destruction of property, public intoxication and two counts of animal cruelty. Additional charges are pending, police say.
