Six Alexandria Aces Are League All Stars

Six members of the Alexandria Aces baseball team were named Cal Ripken League All Stars. They will play for the South team in the league All Star Game, 7:30 PM, July 17, at Povich Field in Bethesda.

The Aces All Stars are:

  • Blaine Bower (of), Elon University
  • Nick Collins (c/dh), Georgetown University
  • Ronnie Glenn (p), University of Pennsylvania
  • Colin Milon (p), George Washington University
  • Ryan Mincher (ss), University of Pennsylvania
  • David Schanz (3b/2b), Binghamton University

The Aces play at Frank Mann Field, 3700 Commonwealth Ave., Alexandria, VA. The field is at Four Mile Run Park, next to Cora Kelly School.

The next four Aces home games are:

  • Friday, July 12 at 7 PM vs. the Bethesda Big Train
  • Sunday, July 14 at 1:30 PM vs. the Herndon Braves
  • Monday, July 15 at 5:30 PM vs. the Rockville Express (doubleheader)
The Aces roster consists of college players from around the country. The Cal Ripken League is a premier collegiate wooden bat summer league with 12 community-supported teams based in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. The league draws talent from top Division I, II and III baseball programs nationwide.
