Specialty Grocer, Cafe Coming to Del Ray: Report

A new grocery store and cafe is coming to Del Ray, according to a local real estate blog, Alexandria Lifestyle. The new market is being built at 3108 Mount Vernon Ave. (see map) on the ground floor of the recently completed Del Ray Tower apartment building.

The target opening date is August/September, according to Alexandria Lifestyle.

The new grocer, Streets Market & Cafe, has two other locations that opened last year, at 2400 14th St. NW, in Washington, D.C. and at 2201 N. Pershing Dr. in Arlington.

The market describes itself on its Web site as a specialty grocer that offers a wide selection of organic, natural and everyday practical goods all under one roof. The market will also have a gourmet menu of prepared dishes, made fresh daily. See a takeout menu here. The DC and Arlington stores sell wine and beer.

The hours for the D.C. store are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
