Watch: Daredevil Crosses High Wire In National Harbor
The daredevil performer crossed the high wire in National Harbor without a harness or safety netting.

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD—The Big Apple Circus doesn't start performing until March 8 in National Harbor. But one of its daredevil performers has put on a show that won't be soon forgotten.
Without the protection of a harness or safety netting, Nik Wallenda walked across a tightrope between buildings in National Harbor on Wednesday. He crossed between two buildings 75 feet up in the air on a cable only the width of a nickel, according to WTOP.
Wallenda finished the task in 10 minutes to complete, and Wallenda even teased spectators with a fake slip as he finished.

This stunt was arguably easier than some others he's taken on, such as crossing 1,800 feet across Niagara Falls in the wind and mist and a quarter mile across the Grand Canyon just outside the official national park. But according to Wallenda, the risk is always there.
“Whether it’s 70 feet or 7,000 feet above the ground, the dangers are the same,” he told WTOP. “I’m an entertainer. That’s what I do.”
