FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has completed a $1.5 million renovation of its facility, marking the largest modernization of the skilled nursing center in more than five decades.
More than 130 guests gathered June 26 to celebrate the completion of the project, according to the facility. Attendees included residents and their families, staff, physicians, nurses, hospital executives, representatives from home health agencies and assisted living communities, dialysis partners and members of the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
The renovation updated resident rooms, common areas and other parts of the 200-bed skilled nursing facility, which has served the Fairfax community for more than 50 years.
Facility officials said the project was designed to create a more modern, comfortable and therapeutic environment for residents.
"The renovation reflects Fairfax's continued commitment to providing a modern, comfortable, and healing environment for those in its care," the center said in a statement.
The renovation follows another recent investment in specialty care. In 2023, Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center partnered with DaVita Kidney Care to open an on-site dialysis den, becoming the first skilled nursing facility in the area to offer dialysis services on-site, according to the facility. Officials said the addition improves access to treatment while allowing residents to receive dialysis without leaving the center.
