Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center unveiled a $1.5 million renovation, updating resident spaces after 50 years.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center has completed a $1.5 million renovation of its facility, marking the largest modernization of the skilled nursing center in more than five decades.
More than 130 guests gathered June 26 to celebrate the completion of the project, according to the facility. Attendees included residents and their families, staff, physicians, nurses, hospital executives, representatives from home health agencies and assisted living communities, dialysis partners and members of the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.

The renovation follows another recent investment in specialty care. In 2023, Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center partnered with DaVita Kidney Care to open an on-site dialysis den, becoming the first skilled nursing facility in the area to offer dialysis services on-site, according to the facility. Officials said the addition improves access to treatment while allowing residents to receive dialysis without leaving the center.
Local Leaders Attend Celebration
Among the local officials and community leaders attending the renovation celebration were:
- Jennifer Rose, executive director of the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce
- Fairfax City Council Member Anthony Amos
- Vikram Iyer, outreach representative for U.S. Sen. Mark Warner
- James Meenan, associate vice president of population health at Virginia Hospital Center
Facility officials said the renovation and expanded health services reflect their continued focus on improving care for residents while strengthening the center's ability to serve the community.
The Fairfax Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 200-bed skilled nursing facility serving patients requiring short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care. The center is located at 10701 Main St. in Fairfax.
