Police arrested Abdiqani Hassan, 37, of Fairfax, and charged him with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on a $4,000 secured bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 26 in Fairfax County General District Court.

Multiple Cases Pending In Fairfax County

Court records show the new charge is not Hassan's only pending felony case.

He is also awaiting an Aug. 18 preliminary hearing in Fairfax County on a separate felony charge of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance stemming from an alleged June 12, 2025 offense. That case has been continued several times over the past year, including one continuance after a bench warrant was issued.

In another Fairfax County case, Hassan is awaiting trial on a misdemeanor petit larceny charge related to an alleged April 4, 2026 incident. That case also was previously continued after a bench warrant and is scheduled for an adjudicatory hearing Nov. 24. A related misdemeanor failure-to-appear charge remains pending.

Cases Span Multiple Jurisdictions

The court records reviewed by Patch show Hassan has appeared in courts in Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Arlington and Alexandria since 2024.

Among the convictions reflected in those records:

The records also include numerous additional cases—including drug possession, petit larceny, false identification, failure-to-appear and probation or diversion violations—that were later dismissed, resolved through amended charges or nolle prosequi, meaning prosecutors elected not to pursue those charges.

As with all criminal charges, the new felony drug charge filed Sunday remains an allegation until proven in court.
