3-Year-Old Dies After Falling Out Of Window In Falls Church
BREAKING: A three-year-old boy died after falling out of a home's window in Falls Church, Fairfax County Police say.

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- A 3-year-old boy is dead after falling out of a window Wednesday in a Falls Church home in Fairfax County, police say.
Around 12:20 p.m., police say the child was playing in an upper level room at the 5700 block of Magnolia Lane home. The boy leaned on the window and fell through. The window had been open with a screen in place.
The boy was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead around 1 p.m.

Detectives believe the death was an accident. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy Thursday.

In light of the incident, police offer the following tips to keep children safe near windows:
- Play areas should be kept away from windows.
- Keep furniture away from windows if children may climb on them.
- Keep windows closed and locked, especially while children are playing. Screens cannot support the weight of a child.
- Install hardware that limits windows to opening a few inches.
