5 Kaiser Permanente Patients Evaluated After Hazmat Situation

A few Falls Church patients had breathing problems due to work being done on the roof, the fire department said.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—A hazmat incident at the Falls Church Kaiser Permanente Monday led to evaluations of some patients.

The Arlington and Fairfax County fire departments responded to the 200 block of North Washington Street, according to a tweet sent before 11 a.m. Monday. A few patients had complained of breathing issues.

Units found an odor entering the ventilation system. Further investigation traced the odor to work being done on the roof. The cause was an adhesive for the roof.
