Alleged Hate Crime Leads To Arrest In Bailey's Crossroads
Police say the man made derogatory racial comments and assaulted a woman.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA—Fairfax County Police arrested and charged a man for an alleged hate crime Sunday in Bailey's Crossroads.
Around 7:01 p.m., police say a man and woman were leaving the A.C. Moore at 5800 Crossroads Center when a man blocked their path. The man is accused of threatening them and making derogatory racial comments.
The couple ran away, but the man followed them into A.C. Moore. He allegedly assaulted the female victim in the store. The woman went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mark Hooper, 50, of no fixed address, was charged with strangulation and assault and battery (hate crime).
