Masked Robber Sought In Bailey's Crossroads

Police say the suspect told the bank teller he had a weapon but became anxious and fled.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA—Police are seeking a suspect in an attempted bank robbery in Bailey's Crossroads Thursday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., the suspect entered the Capital One Bank at 3499 South Jefferson Street and demanded money from the teller, implying he had a weapon. Police say he became anxious and left without taking anything. No one was injured.

Officers, K9 units and the police searched the area but have not found the suspect. The man was wearing a black head covering, a black and orange floral pattern skirt, a green jacket and gloves at the time and is about 6 feet tall.
