Back To School: Falls Church 2021-22 School Calendar
Parents in Falls Church can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Falls Church, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day.
The first day of school for students in Falls Church is Monday, Aug. 30. The final day of school is scheduled for June 23, 2022. However, there is the possibility of a June 17 end date., according to Falls Church City Public Schools.
With a total enrollment of about 2,800 students in five schools, Falls Church City Public Schools brought students in Pre-K through fifth grades back to the classroom five days a week in April and brought middle and high school students back to the classroom four days a week, with one day of asynchronous learning for them.

The five schools are Jessie Thackrey Preschool, Mount Daniel Elementary, Oak Street Elementary, Mary Ellen Henderson Middle and Meridian High School.
For summer education, FCCPS students are still required to wear masks when on any bus or campus, regardless of vaccine status, unless there is an ADA or medical exemption. Students may remove their masks when outside. They must still remain socially distanced.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Falls Church.
