Car Parts Left Behind In Crash Injuring Mother And Daughter
A car mirror broke off when the blue Mercedes hit a mother and child in Bailey's Crossroads.
BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA—Fairfax County Police say car parts were left behind in a hit-and-run crash that injured a Falls Church mother and daughter in Bailey's Crossroads Saturday night.
A side view mirror from the passenger side of a Mercedes sedan and the lower front grille were left behind from the crash. Police have consulted with Mercedes staff, who say the car is likely a dark blue C-class sedan made between 2012 and 2015. A license plate number is not available.
The woman and her 12-year-old daughter were struck as they crossing Columbia Pike near Tyler Street in a crosswalk. The car did not stop or return to the scene after hitting the two victims. Detectives say it was dark and rainy around 10 p.m. when the crash happened.
