Car Thief Wearing 'Trust Me' Shirt Arrested In Falls Church

A man wearing a "trust me" shirt and his accomplice stole a car as it was warming in Falls Church, police say.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Two men are facing charges after stealing an unattended car in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County over the holiday weekend.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, a resident was warming up the car and left it unattended in the 7500 block of Parkwood Court. That's when the suspects struck, stealing the car before the owner could realize it was gone.

Police were unable to immediately locate the car in the area, but later an officer later found it and pulled the driver over. Two suspects in the car, Wilmer Lara Garcia, 23, and Orlen Nunez, 24, both of Falls Church, were arrested.

Both were charged with auto theft, and Garcia was charged with two counts of forgery after police found altered and forged checks in the car.

As winter comes into full swing, police remind residents to not leave cars unattended and unlocked while warming up.
