No residents were injured, and the cats are expected to be "purrfect" after being treated.
A house fire in the West Falls Church area prompted the rescue of cats Thursday evening, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Units responded to the 3100 block of Holloway Road around 5:30 p.m. The home had smoke showing from the second floor. Crews located the fire in the attic and quickly put it out.

No people were injured, but firefighters got two cats out of the home. A photo posted to social media shows a first responder treating one cat with a pet oxygen mask. The department was "happy to report kitty is fine and none of the nine lives had to be used."
Investigators say the fire started in the pipe chase on the main level. The cause was a plumber’s torch used while soldering copper pipes.
