Code Ninjas To Open Location In Falls Church

Code Ninjas aims to teach coding in a fun way to kids. The grand opening is set for Saturday.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—A new educational center opening in Falls Church aims to teach kids coding. And the kids get to be ninjas while they do it.

Code Ninjas announced its grand opening at 510 South Washington Street Suite F on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A ribbon cutting with Mayor David Tarter, Vice Mayor Marybeth Connelly and Council Members Phil Duncan and Letty Hardi will happen at 10 a.m.

All are invited to attend for demonstrations, tours, a balloon artist, giveaways and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) games and activities. Members of the George Mason High School Robotics team will be on hand to demonstrate their award-winning robot from the spring FIRST World Championship. Kiln & Co will have free custard for attendees.

Code Ninjas is a franchise that teaches kids ages 7-14 about coding through building video games. Kids can advance from white to black belt as they learn the skills. They'll even publish their own app once they're done with the program.

There are different kinds of programs, from a core program to parents' night out, camps and birthday parties. Based in Houston, Code Ninjas is working to open hundreds of locations nationwide. Locations in Burke and Leesburg will open in June.
