Curbside Pickup Launched At Falls Church Library

While the library remains closed, residents can schedule a contact-free pickup.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Falls Church's Mary Riley Styles Public Library remains closed amid the pandemic, but items are now available through a new curbside pickup service.

The library announced that books, DVDs, and other physical items can be reserved online or by calling 703-248-5031. Up to 10 items can be picked up at a time, or library staff can compile a random assortment of 20 picture books through the Quick Pick Picture Books service.

Curbside pickup is available by appointment Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Once residents reserve items, library staff will contact them to schedule a pickup time. Due to staffing limitations related to the pandemic, it may take up to 48 hours before items are ready. Items will be cleaned and quarantined for at least two days before each curbside pickup.

When arriving to pick up items, the driver should open the trunk and remain in the vehicle until library staff have completed the drop-off. Staff will wear masks, maintain six feet from others, and wash or sanitize hands between orders.

The library's physical location remains closed until further notice. The temporary location during renovations is a trailer at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, 601 South Oak Street. For updates and virtual programs from the library, visit http://www.fallschurchva.gov/424/Library.
