VIRGINIA — After the Independence Day holiday, this weekend brings a variety of summer fun around Northern Virginia and D.C.

One uniquely DC event is the opening of metrobar's Railcar Bar, an old Metrorail car made into a bar. You can also grab a drink at the DMV Wine, Beer, & Liquor Festival or pick sunflowers at Summer of Sunflowers at Great Country Farms and U-Pick Sunflower Field at Wegmeyer Farms.

Even though Fourth of July has passed, there are fireworks shows still to enjoy. Check out the Alexandria & USA Birthday Celebration in Alexandria and Big Fireworks at Harper's Ferry Brewing/Harper's Ferry Adventure Center in Purcellville.
