Elderly Falls Church Woman Victim Of Hit And Run: Police
The vehicle that hit the woman did not stop and has not been located. Police are seeking the public's help in the case.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — An 81-year-old woman has died after being involved in a hit and run incident Thursday at approximately 9 p.m. in the 7200 block of Lee Highway. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Raymunda Garcia-Hernandez of Falls Church in the westbound lanes, the police department said. Rescue personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Detectives from the crash reconstruction unit have determined that Garcia-Hernandez was crossing Lee Highway outside of a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and has not been located and the investigation remains active, the police department noted.

Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards of $100 to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
