Elderly Man Dies After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Bailey's Crossroads
Police say the man's vehicle struck cars stopped in traffic, causing other vehicles to be hit.
BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — An elderly man died following a Sept. 24 multi-vehicle crash on Leesburg Pike in Bailey's Crossroads.
According to Fairfax County Police, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of Leesburg Pike. Investigations found the man's 1997 Mercury Marquis had been heading eastbound on Leesburg Pike when his vehicle hit two cars stopped in traffic. The crash caused three other vehicles to be hit.
The man was taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, but police were notified the following day that the man had died of his injuries. He was identified as Donald Buzzell, 92, of Arlington.

Police did not identify a cause of the crash but said speed and alcohol were not involved. Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to call the police department's Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.
