Recycling Extravaganza

Recycling Extravaganzas is a special collection event taking place on Saturday, April 28 at the Falls Church Recycling Center (217 Gordon Road). Residential customers may bring hard-to-recycle items for recycling or reuse.

Quick Tips: What Can Be Recycled?

  • Secure Paper Shredding sponsored by TrueShred: Up to 3 boxes, no larger than 2'x2'x2' each; follow the link for Shredding 101: What to shred and how to prep it!
  • Clothing and Textiles: Includes clothing, belts, handbags, hats, paired socks, paired shoes, drapes, sheets, towels, fabrics, etc. (no fee, tax receipt available)
  • Electronics: Includes computers and computer components, printers, fax machines, copiers, TVs, VCRs, telephones, cell phones, answering machines, etc. (no fee, no tax receipt).
  • Bicycles: $10 donation requested for shipping to developing countries by Bikes for the World. No frames or tricycles are accepted (tax receipt available).
  • Printer Cartridges: Includes inkjet, laser, and fax machine cartridges (no tax receipt).
  • Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids.
  • Medical Supplies: canes, crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers (tax receipt available). No shower chairs or bathroom chairs accepted.
