Starring Martin Sheen, playing a 70-year-old American doctor (Tom) who travels to Spain to claim the body of his son Daniel (Emilio Estevez), who accidentally dies while on a pilgrimage journey to traverse the Camino de Santiago, or the Way of Saint James.

The journey is a spiritual path across Spain that has been undertaken by pilgrims for a thousand years. The grieving father decides to honor his son’s commitment and completes the journey, scattering Daniel’s ashes as he goes.

It is a story about father and son, relationship and healing. The Way is the tale of a literal journey that leads to a spiritual, personal transformation.
