Event Educates Area Residents on New, Novel Aging-in-Place Program

Information session on Goodwin House at Home Program Explains New Aging-in-Place Program

Goodwin House at Home, a program designed for individuals in Northern Virginia area who want to plan for aging in place as a solution to the traditionally high health care costs common to the area, is hosting an upcoming informational event on Tuesday, September 13th. Only one of 21 similar programs in the country, Goodwin House at Home has been developed to help independent older adults achieve their dream of living out their lives in the home of their choice with just the right amount of support exactly when they need it. Goodwin House at Home removes the fear of the unknown as it relates to both long-term needs and protecting your financial future.

“More than anything, today’s health-conscious seniors want choices so that they can be empowered to manage their health and living situation as they age,” stated Karen Skeens, executive director of Goodwin House at Home. “In fact, we know 77 percent of those 65 and older in the DC metro area want to remain in their home as they age. Our program provides a quality solution to those that want to age gracefully in their home with just enough support to make life easier.”

The Goodwin House at Home program offers affordable financial plans and the assurance that a total package of long-term care services will be available when needed at a fraction of the cost if you paid for these services separately. Participants pay a one-time membership fee to join the program, followed by a monthly fee. As care needs increase, the monthly fees do not.
