FALLS CHURCH, VA — Once October arrives, it's time for some spooky Halloween fun and other fall festivities.

Falls Church has events for all ages throughout the month. Check out the city's family events like Sunset Cinema, Farm Day and Halloween Carnival. Adults can enjoy the holiday at the Legwarmers 80s Halloween Night: the Haunted Theatre or Settle Down Easy Brewing's Haunted Halloween.

Ichabod: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: Oct. 6-30

Enter the world of Sleepy Hollow in this adaptation of Washington Irving's classic story about the Headless Horseman. Shows run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sunset Cinema: Friday, Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m.

Cherry Hill Park, 312 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA

Fall weather sets the stage for Falls Church's Sunset Cinema series. The last Sunset Cinema event of the year will be "The Goonies" at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. Attendeees can bring blankets and a picnic for the movie screening. Drinks, popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase with cash only. In the case of inclement weather, the movie will be rescheduled for the following Friday.

Farm Day: Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cherry Hill Park, 312 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA

This annual event combines traditional farm fun with modern activities for the whole family. There will be a petting farm, pony rides, pumpkin painting, scare crow making (bring your own long pants and a sleeved shirt), live music, tours of the Cherry Hill Farmhouse and barn, blacksmith demonstrations and more. The event is free, but some activities have a fee. Tickets are $1 with activity costs ranging from one to seven tickets. Tickets will be available with cash only at Cherry Hill Park or by credit card at the Falls Church Community Center. See a map of the event here.

FCPD Mason District and Friends Trunk-or-Treat: Wednesday, Oct. 12, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Woodrow Wilson Library parking lot, 6101 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church, VA

Join Fairfax County Police and others for a trunk-or-treat. To register a trunk for the event, email PFC Evan Dicker at Evan.Dicker@fairfaxcounty.gov.

Legwarmers 80s Halloween Night: the Haunted Theatre: Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29, 9:30 p.m.

State Theatre, 220 N. Washington Street, Falls Church, VA

The Legwarmers will provide music for the State Theatre's 80s Retro Halloween Dance Party. The State Theatre will be turned into a ghoulish 80s fright fest, and there will be cash prizes awarded for the top three costumes. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9:30 p.m.

Halloween Carnival: Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This ticketed event features spooky fun such as carnival games, inflatables, candy, fall snacks, and more. There will also be performances by Mount Daniel Elementary first graders at 1:05 p.m. and second graders at 3:35 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring a trick-or-treat bag to collect goodies.

Wristbands are required to participate in all activities. Tickets are $1 and are required for children 2 and older. The ticket will be good for one timeslot: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls Street. Strollers must be left outside the community center.

Kids Halloween Party at VFW Post 9274: Saturday, Oct. 29, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
