Where: George Mason High School:, 7124 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA
When: July 4th, gates open at 6 p.m.
The Falls Church Fourth of July event features food trucks, music and fireworks. Food trucks will include DC Steakholders, Flying Moo Ice Cream, Los Wingeez, and Z Enterprises Inc. Music by The Excellent Drivers starts at 7 p.m. and the fireworks show kicks off at 9:20 p.m. Attendees can bring blankets and flat-based chairs to view the show at Jack Gambill Athletic Fields or the Northern Virginia Graduate Center parking lot.
Parking at George Mason High School is restricted to event personnel and visitors with a disabled parking placard. Anyone attending can park for free at the West Falls Church Metro Station parking garage.

What: A Capitol Fourth Concert
Where: West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, Washingtonm DC
When: July 4, 8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
(Via the National Park Service's website): "Co-sponsored by the National Park Service and the National Symphony Orchestra, A Capital Fourth honors our nation's 243rd birthday with an all-star salute of the best in American entertainment. Gates open at 3 p.m." Performers this year include John Stamos, Vanessa Williams, Carole King, Sesame Street, the National Symphony Orchestra, and many more.
What: DC Fireworks Display
Where: National Mall, Washington, DC
When: July 4, 9:07 p.m. - 9:27 p.m.
(Via the National Park Service's website): "Independence Day culminates with a spectacular fireworks display over the National Mall. The fireworks will be launched from West Potomac Park and will be visible from many locations throughout D.C. and Northern Virginia. The fireworks will be cancelled in case of heavy rain, thunderstorms or high winds."
What: McLean Independence Day Celebration
Where: Langley High School, 6520 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA
When: July 4, gates open at 6:30 p.m.
The event is held by the McLean Community Center and features food trucks, a DJ, and fireworks. There will be limited on-site parking. Parking and a shuttle will be available at McLean Community Center and St. John's Episcopal Church.
What: Alexandria Birthday Celebration
Where: Oronoco Bay Park, 100 Madison Street Alexandria, VA
When: July 13, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
Alexandria celebrates its 270 birthday and America’s 243rd birthday in one big celebration. Guests can enjoy a performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, patriotic birthday cake and food vendors. The event culminates in a fireworks show over the Potomac River.
