Falls Church Area Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing: Reports

A couple was stabbed at a church in Maryland; the husband died and the wife is in serious but stable condition.

A Falls Church man is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man who died Sunday night at a Korean church-based organization near Frederick, Md.

Police described a “very bloody” gruesome scene, according to The Washington Post.

Suspect Song Su Kim, 30 of Falls Church has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault, the Frederick News Post reported.

The woman, the wife of the man who died, is in serious but stable condition, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

The homicide victim and his wife were pastors visiting the area from Korea, Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins told The Washington Post.

Police responded to a call at about 7:45 p.m. to Anna Prayer Mountain, at 7910 Peters Road, according to the sheriff’s office. The woman was taken by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma.

Kim had been living at the Korean church-based organization for about a week, the newspaper reported.

After the stabbing, Kim called 911 and said he was waiting for deputies, the sheriff’s office said.
