Falls Church City Schools Announce Changes Due To New Coronavirus
Falls Church City Public Schools is planning to close through spring break as officials monitor the COVID-19 situation.
FALLS CHURCH, VA — Falls Church City Public Schools will close beginning on Monday, March 16 in response to concerns about the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. The announcement was made Friday in a joint statement from FCCPS Superintendent Peter J. Noonan and Arlington Public Schools interim Superintendent Cintia Z. Johnson.
"The present plans are to remain closed through Spring Break, with students scheduled to return on April 14, 2020," the superintendents said, in their statement. "We will continue to evaluate and monitor the situation on a daily basis and will provide an update on our plans as new information is available."
More details about the closures will be provided to families later on Friday.

As of Thursday, the City of Falls Church said there were no presumptive or confirmed cases of coronavirus in its jurisdiction.
