Falls Church Funeral Home Collects Condolences For Barbara Bush

The local funeral home is giving residents a chance to share condolence messages in a memorial book.

Former First Lady Barbara Bush died on April 17, prompting millions to mourn. Her death hits home in the national capital region, and that's why a Falls Church funeral home is collecting messages of condolences and remembrance.

Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad St, Falls Church, is holding memorial book signing events in honor of Bush. Community members are invited to sign the memorial book 9 a.m.-p.m. starting Friday, April 20 through Friday, April 27.

Bush passed away at her Houston home Tuesday evening surrounded by her family. She was 92. Her death comes just two days after the family made a public statement that she would forego any further medical treatment and live out her days at home. She served as First Lady from 1989 to 1993.
