Falls Church Motorcyclist Dies In Crash

A young man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a car in Falls Church Monday night.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—A Falls Church man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into a car Monday evening.

Fairfax County Police say the collision happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) and South Street around 4 p.m. The motorcycle was heading eastbound on Arlington Boulevard when it crashed into the car making a left turn onto South Street.

The motorcyclist, Mark Green-Smith, 20, of Falls Church, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the car was injured.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is in the early stages. Police say it is too early to say if speed was a factor, but alcohol is likely not involved.

Drivers faced delays on Arlington Boulevard during commutes, as the accident closed a portion of the busy road for some time.
