Falls Church Restaurant Crawl To Benefit Ireland's Four Courts Workers

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Falls Church restaurants will host a crawl to benefit employees of Ireland's Four Courts in Arlington, where a driver crashed in August, causing injuries and damage.

The Crawl for the Courts will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees can purchase a $100-per-person voucher to enjoy a bite and drink specials at six participating Falls Church restaurants. All proceeds will be given to Ireland's Four Courts.

The crawl is bring organized by Clare and Don’s Beach Shack and Ireland’s Four Provinces to support Ireland's Four Courts staff. Participating restaurants include Clare and Don's Beach Shack, Ireland's Four Provinces, Liberty Barbecue, Northside Social Falls Church, Dogwood Tavern and Harvey’s.

On Aug. 12, a vehicle had crashed into Ireland's Four Courts, a popular Irish pub near the Court House Metro station in Arlington. The impact left 15 people injured, including some staff of the restaurant, and caused a fire that damaged and closed the restaurant. The 15 people included nine taken to hospitals — two in critical condition and one in serious but stable condition. Six others were treated on the scene. As of Sept. 15, Arlington County reported all patients had been released from hospitals.

This week, Arlington County Police had announced no charges will be pursued against the rideshare driver who crashed into the restaurant. An investigation determined the driver suffered a medical emergency.

There is no word on when Ireland's Four Courts can reopen. The restaurant said on its website it would work with Arlington County on a plan to reopen in the short term with a long-term goal of opening at full capacity.

A previous fundraiser for Ireland's Four Courts was held at Samuel Beckett's Irish Gastro Pub in Arlington. A Four Courts Benefit Show is also planned on Nov. 15 at Kelly's Irish Times, 14 F Street NW, Washington, DC. A GoFundMe fundraiser is ongoing for the victims injured in the crash.
